4 days of harmony, healing and pristine nature – yoga retreat in Nepal

Join us in Nepal's gorgeous Begnas Lake Resort, and spoil yourself in somewhere totally unspoiled.

Dates: 10 October 2016 - 13 October 16
Taught by: Doron Hanoch
Location: Begnas Lake Resort & Spa (near Pokhara), Nepal
Cost: $525

Doron Hanoch and Mahalaya are heading to the gorgeous Begnas Lake Resort for a four-day yoga retreat in pristine nature.

It’s festival time in Nepal, so we’re doing something a little different – a wonderful chance to simply unwind and spoil ourselves in somewhere totally unspoiled.

We’ll be offering daily morning yoga practice, restorative evening relaxation practices, delicious and nourishing food from the Resort’s fantastic Ayurvedic kitchen, and some light teachings with Doron on living the yoga lifestyle and Ayurveda. But there will be plenty of time to enjoy the pool and to deeply breathe pure mountain air, to take a swim or boat in the healing waters of the lake while gazing up at the Annapurna peaks, to hike and detox among the hillside forest, to cycle among coffee and fruit trees, treat yourself to a healing massage from the resort’s Himalayan Nature Spa, snuggle up with a loved one in your Gurung-tradition stone cottage with postcard views from your window, or enjoy the company of friendly like-minded people in a rejuvenating place.

Kids are welcome: Lizzie will be offering fun kids yoga while you have a chance to lose yourself in your own yoga practice with Doron.

Come and bend at Lake Begnas, and return a refreshed, relaxed and revitalised you!

Begnas Lake is the perfect stepping stone to a trek in the Annapurna range afterwards, and is close to the Vipassana centre for those looking for more stillness (courses begin on the first of the month).

Retreat fee

The retreat fee is $525 per person. We understand that this is dearer than our normal rates – the Resort is truly special but is a more expensive venue than we usually use. Lizzie has however negotiated the best rate we could to make this as affordable as possible, as we would love to offer this fabulous trip with you.

The fee includes accommodation at the heavenly Begnas Lake Resort & Spa, three delicious nutritious meals per day, use of the pool, and all your yoga sessions with Doron Hanoch.

We expect a lot of people will prefer to make their own transport arrangements, as you may wish to go earlier, or stay on after, or fly. However, we will organise a private bus and all are welcome to join us in that, either return or one-way: we will simply divide the cost-price between participants taking this option (expect around 4,000 rupees (approx. $40) return, depending on numbers). The bus will depart from Kathmandu at 6am on the Saturday (with a stop for breakfast on the way), getting to Begnas around 1pm on the 10th. We will leave Begnas after lunch on the 13th and arrive into Kathmandu around 8/9pm.

Doron Hanoch

This is a chance to practice with the extraordinary Doron while he’s in Nepal, following his sell-out yoga teacher training in September and the launch of his book, The Yoga Lifestyle, in June.

During that time, Doron has studied at the Osho Ashram, with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, in Thailand doing Vipassana retreats, and in Japan living and working with a Buddhist priest.
