In one of the most serene and nurturing venues in Nepal, retreat into peace and stillness

We are privileged to welcome back Tonie Nooyens to share his beloved, inclusive and transformative teaching of Kundalini meditation and yoga based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan®.

Using meditation, reflection and deep intuitive listening, we will use these nine days to:

  • build our awareness so we can view and review the relationship to ourselves and to others
  • explore and understand how we form, sustain and honor relationships
  • recognize when and how we act from a false emotional core in our relationships and create painful repeating patterns.

This retreat can be taken by practitioners seeking to join a deep journey into self-awareness and self-growth, and by teachers currently following the Kundalini Level II certification programme

The facilitators were fantastic. No ego, huge depth of knowledge, and fun. I gained incredible insight into myself, my habits, my traumas, releasing these and beginning to heal. A once in a lifetime experience. A massive thank you to everyone involved – the facilitators, the Mahalaya team. Such a special experience and every detail thought of.”

Becky-Jay Harrington, Australia, participant of the Lifestyles & Life Cycles Level 2 Kundalini Yoga course, May 2018

Coming to terms with the wounds of the past, we generate forgiveness so we can let go of what kept us from expressing our true Self and heal ourselves. We can begin to live authentically and to make Love – including self-love – the foundation for our relationships.

Our success as conscious human beings depends on our capacity to be authentic and to respond from our hearts.

Authentic Relationships is a process that acts as a mirror for you, showing your facets as a teacher, your depth as a human being and your areas for growth. The primary objective of this course is to examine our relationships, cultivate intuition, and apply our new insights to every relationship. In this way, the retreat seeks to improve our effectiveness, authenticity and awareness within our relationships.

“Tonie, you held beautiful space for us to discover and transform our SELF. At times it was so tough, tiring and painful and I was able to flow through the process. I felt your strength, neutrality and most of all TRUST. Thank you. Satnam.”

Manjeet Kaur, Malaysia, participant of the Lifestyles & Life Cycles Level 2 Kundalini Yoga course, May 2018

Building on the foundations of KRI Level 1, this KRI Level 2 Immersion is about personal transformation, deepening core capacity, character and consciousness. Under the guidance of senior teachers, you will cultivate your yogic capacities of intuition, neutrality and self-love.

Our success as Kundalini Yoga teachers and as conscious human beings depends on our capacity to be authentic and respond from our hearts; our primary objective is to examine our relationships and improve our effectiveness, authenticity and awareness within them.

Though these are Level 2 Teacher Training courses, Level 1 is not required. These immersions are open to everybody with an interest and are complete unto themselves.

Life on this Kundalini Yoga retreat

During our retreat we will undertake a meditative journey, adapted to both newer and more advanced practitioners. We will be supported by Tonie’s deeply experienced guidance and Dharma teachings from the Khenpo (the abbot of the monastery), and are invited to join the monks of the monastery during their morning prayers.

This will be complemented with asana and breathing practice, mantra and the powerful resonance of gong sound-current. Together in community we’ll follow a yogic lifestyle, with delicious vegetarian foods, sharing in basic tasks and time for relaxation and walking in the beautiful nature of the surroundings.

For those pursuing accreditation

The venue for our meditation course in Nepal

For Tibetan Buddhists, the hills of Pharping where we immerse for our retreat is considered as sacred as Bodhgaya in India, as it is where the second buddha Guru Padmasambhava (“Guru Rinpoche”) attained the state of enlightenment, before going on to establish Buddhism in Tibet.

The monastery which is our home during the retreat makes important contributions to the preservation and sharing of the Buddhist teachings, and our stay there helps to fund education for the many young monks from remote areas of Nepal. In return, we are blessed with the opportunity to practice in the temple itself, in a beautiful room above the main hall where the glass walls look out across the valley and mountains.

The lovely guest house often surprises our guests for its wonderful spacious and light rooms, comfortable beds for deep and refreshing sleeps, all with modern attached bathrooms, and built in Tibetan style. It is the perfect place to relax, restore and revive.
